Anime and Manga Club- Watch your favorite animes, learn to draw and write your own manga stories in this fun club!

8th grade Homework Club will assist students with their homework, teachers will be available to help, answer questions as well as time-management regarding nightly homework. Please note: this is not an individualized tutoring-styled program.

Anyone can build a game in Roblox! Roblox studio has all the tools to make your wildest gaming imaginations a reality. You tell us what game you want to make and we'll teach you the fundamentals and coach you through bringing that game to life! Whether you're new to coding or have some experience, you will be challenged and have fun while bringing your game to life. Through drag and drop techniques or pure scripting, you’ll be creating extensions to the Roblox game while fostering your creativity and learning real-world computer coding. Camp Outcomes: At the end of your camp, your child will have a completed Roblox project(s) which they will be able to play online and be able to show off to their friends. Your child will learn problem solving skills, managing a game from the ground up, will learn how to work with different coding concepts such as variables, objects, and writing proper syntax all while managing their very own game!

KidzHop: Get Up & Dance! Kids can’t help but get up & dance in KidzHop! This is a perfect, age-appropriate Intro to HipHop for Elementary School Kids! They catch the beat grooving to hit tunes they love, and learning dance essentials through funky moves. Our skilled teachers build confidence as they encourage & inspire! Classes Include: All classes consist of stretching, traveling steps across the floor and choreography, focusing on musicality, balance, coordination, and of course fun! Kids learn about the history of different styles of the genre including: Breakdancing, Popping, Locking & Krump. This provides the background and context to help kids learn moves of each variation, gaining confidence along the way! KidzHop is the coolest way to get kids’ bodies moving! Every kid benefits when they get up & dance!

Kids Sing, Dance, and Move & Groove in GroovyBeBop! This enrichment program encourages children’s primary music development by helping them learn basic music competence and introductory musical concepts, through song, dance, and instrument play in a fun-filled, interactive environment. Classes Include: artistically conceived flow of classic kids’ songs, nursery rhymes, finger plays, focused instrument play, circle dances, and instrumental jam sessions to various styles of music from around the globe. Instruments Include: shaker eggs, rhythm sticks, tambourines, drums, resonator bells, jingle bells & play-along instruments Props Include: silk scarves, ribbon bands, rainbow rope, parachutes & puppets Teachers serve as positive role-models accompanying each class playing guitar or ukulele live, inspiring students each day. Lesson plans are adapted for Preschool & Pre-K to include more advanced elements including: introduction to musical notation, terminology, and theory, as well as dramatic musical play, and incorporating children’s ideas & initiatives. GroovyBeBop gives children the perfect introduction to music, as they explore instruments, find their singing voices, feel the rhythm in their bodies, and build confidence as they discover the joy of expressing themselves through music!

Location: Galvin Middle School Each day will be a different location from: 18 Holes at Stoneham Oaks 9 Holes at Reddy Meadow Lunch and Practice at Paradise Driving Range - lots of contests and prizes Practice and 18 Holes at Stone Meadow Golf in Lexington 18 Holes at Atkinson CC and Chipping Contests at Galvin / Grilling Hot Dogs at the end. Pick up is at Galvin each morning at 8am Drop off is at Galvin each afternoon at 12:30pm except Friday Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 8:00am-12:30pm (M-TH) and Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

Rocket Science features the all time favorite -customizable E2X model rocket. Keep a Captain’s Log as you investigate what’s inside the rocky planets and gas giants. Map distant constellations, create glittering moon rocks, and make galaxy slime as part of your out-of-this-world lunar journey. Blast off with a solid fuel high flying launch at the end of the week (weather permitting).

Dinosaurs or robots? Which is your favorite? Join us for this dinos and robots only battle to see which one wins out! Start with robots to communicate in code, learn about circuits and electricity then design your own ultimate working robot to take home. Next, we’ll look at the mighty Mesozoic era and the dinosaurs who ruled the earth. Go back in time to inspect real fossils and find out how dinos got their names.

This summer in Wakefield is going to be a lot of fun for many kids with our awesome SZ101 team! In all our action-packed weeks, kids will participate in a variety of games, such as street hockey, soccer, football, battleship, four corners, dodgeball, basketball and many others. In addition to learning the fundamentals of these sports, we will have exciting discussions about current events in sports, good sportsmanship and understanding the cool statistics on sports cards. Each participant will receive a daily pack of cards as a major prize. These prizes help emphasize value and are a fun way to enhance learning! CELTICS/NBA HOOPS WEEK: Our theme this week is all things basketball. We will be playing tournament style games of basketball including mini-games, knockout, and shooting contests. We will talk about some great games, moments, and offer a special Celtics prize to a lucky child at the end of the week. Kids are welcome to share their special prizes with the group throughout the week.
