  • Do you still have a morning drop-in program?

    No, due to safety requirements, you are required to register your child for the before-school program and complete a monthly schedule.

  • How do I add days and change my child's before and after school schedule?

    Updating Your Child's Schedule

    If you need to add days to your child's schedule please use these instructions:

    Changes can be made to any month until it is invoiced. Invoicing takes place on the 3rd or 4th of the month. Once invoiced, you are still able to switch days within a month by contacting your Site Coordinator or you may add the occasional drop in day (maximum 3 per month) through your child's account or by contacting the Site Coordinator. 

  • How do I enroll my child in Wakefield Academy?

    You will need to create your own account in Eleyo.  You will then add your child or children to the account.  Once this step is completed, you can then add programs to your "cart" just like you would any shopping site.  

  • How do I know if I qualify for discounted tuition with Wakefield Academy?

    In order to qualify for a discounted tuition rate, you must complete and share a free/reduced lunch application with WPS Food Services. Our tuition discount is as follows: Free lunch=50% reduction. Reduced lunch=25% reduction.  Click HERE to apply. It is very important to complete the Sharing Information form. This is required by the State in order for your information to be shared with Wakefield Academy. 

  • How does afternoon dismissal from the Wakefield Academy work?

    You will be required to show a picture ID and wait while a staff member brings your child(ren) to you. Even if your child is outside, you must go to the Wakefield Academy entrance and so your child can be signed out.

  • How does morning drop off at the Wakefield Academy work?

    You will be required to bring your child into the program via the main entrance for check-in, unless otherwise specified.

  • What are the hours of the Wakefield Academy program?

    Wakefield Academy has two programs, before school (BSP) and after school (ASP).

    Elementary Schools: BSP 7:00am - 8:30am (elementary only) and ASP 2:45pm to 6:00pm**.

    Doyle: BSP 7:00am-8:40am and ASP 2:15pm-5:30pm**.

    Galvin Middle School: ASP only 2:20pm - 6pm**.

    **Late pick up fees are accessed as below:

    5-10 minutes $20

    10-20 minutes $40

    20-40 minutes $60

  • What if I am late picking up at dismissal?

    Wakefield Academy closes at 6:00pm (Doyle School at 5:30pm) A late pick up fee will be accessed as follows: $20.00 for 5-10 minutes late, $40 for 10-20 minutes late, $60 for 20-40 minutes late.   

    Repeated late pick-ups may result in your child being unable to attend Wakefield Academy.  

  • What if I need to change my dismissal, who should I notify?

    Great question! You should notify the following people: Your child’s teacher, School Office, and Site Coordinator of any change in your child’s dismissal schedule. This is most important to ensure your child is safe and to lessen confusion at dismissal time.

  • What is the cost of the program?

    The cost of the Pre-K program is below:

    • Before School - $10 per day/per child
    • After School -    $25 per day/per child
    • Early Release - $30 per day/per child

    The cost of the K-4 program is below:

    • Before School - $10 per day/per child
    • After School -    $20 per day/per child
    • Early Release - $30 per day/per child

    The cost of the Galvin MS program is below:

    • After School -   $20 per day/per child
    • Early Release - $30 per day/per child  
  • What is the policy for canceled, missed or sick days?

    Due to staffing requirements, we cannot provide a refund or credit for any days that are missed. The only exception is if a child has a lengthy illness or injury that will require them to miss 5 or more days school.  We will then provide a credit for the days missed.

  • What is your breakfast, snacks, and drink Policy?

    All students should bring a snack and drink when attending our After-School program (2 if it is an early release day).  If your child should forget their snack, we do have emergency snacks on hand.  All students should bring a refillable water container.

  • What is your medication policy?

    Wakefield Academy staff are unable to dispense prescription or non-prescription medication. The only exceptions to this policy are life-saving medications such as diabetic medication, Epi-pen, or inhalers. Please provide the Wakefield Academy Site Coordinator with an Epi-pen or inhaler should your child require one. Please be sure your child knows how to use his/her inhaler. If your child requires diabetic medication, you must contact our WA nurse, Meghan Hoffman at (781) 246-6479, and provide all medication and doctor orders as she is the only medical professional who can dispense this medication.

  • When does the WoW Summer invoice go out and can I make changes to my schedule after?

    Invoices for all WoW Summer Programs will be sent out on May 8th, final payment and schedule changes are due on or before June 6, 2024

    There are no refunds after June 6th. If you require payment arrangements, please contact the Wakefield Academy office.

  • When does Wakefield Academy start and end for the school year?

    Wakefield Academy follows the Wakefield Public School's calendar. 

  • Where is the Wakefield Academy Program held?

    Our program is held at your child’s home school. We have before school and after school programs at the Doyle ECC and all 4 elementary schools.  Our Galvin Middle School has an after school program only.

  • Who do I contact in case of emergency or need to contact my site coordinator?

    All CONTACT INFORMATION is located on our website (scroll down to find all after-hours and site coordinator contact information).

  • Will I be required to complete a health form?

    At this time, families will NOT be required to complete a health form questionnaire however please add as much information into your child's account as you would think we would need to keep them safe and happy.

  • Will students be using the outside spaces for play?

    Yes, they will be outside every day (weather permitting). Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
