On a mission to get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! We present kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned! Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own. Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes. Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. Want to foster your child's interest in STEM, while igniting their creative spark at the same time? Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game! Over the course of 4 days students create with over 50 different building materials, including Lego®, PlusPlus®, and custom-made Buildwave materials. Each day of the program is a new “level” of the Buildwave game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves. As your child creates with wave after wave of new objects, they build creative confidence, become better collaborators, and encounter design and engineering fundamentals in a unique and memorable context. This summer in Wakefield is going to be a lot of fun for many kids with our awesome SZ101 team! In all our action-packed weeks, kids will participate in a variety of games, such as street hockey, soccer, football, battleship, four corners, dodgeball, basketball and many others. In addition to learning the fundamentals of these sports, we will have exciting discussions about current events in sports, good sportsmanship and understanding the cool statistics on sports cards. Each participant will receive a daily pack of cards as a major prize. These prizes help emphasize value and are a fun way to enhance learning! New England Patriots Week: All things Patriots for the week! We will talk about some great games, moments, and offer a special Patriots prize to a lucky child at the end of the week. We will also play some flag football this week. Kids are welcome to share their special prizes with the group throughout the week for a chance at a Patriots prize!
