    We are proud to offer a co-ed soccer club here at Galvin Middle School. Participants will learn soccer skills and sportsmanship in a positive environment. We will not have games, but will hold scrimmages at least twice throughout the program season. A background in soccer is not necessary to register, all are welcome!

    Kids Sing, Dance, and Move & Groove in GroovyBeBop! This enrichment program encourages children’s primary music development by helping them learn basic music competence and introductory musical concepts, through song, dance, and instrument play in a fun-filled, interactive environment. Classes Include: artistically conceived flow of classic kids’ songs, nursery rhymes, finger plays, focused instrument play, circle dances, and instrumental jam sessions to various styles of music from around the globe. Instruments Include: shaker eggs, rhythm sticks, tambourines, drums, resonator bells, jingle bells & play-along instruments Props Include: silk scarves, ribbon bands, rainbow rope, parachutes & puppets Teachers serve as positive role-models accompanying each class playing guitar or ukulele live, inspiring students each day. Lesson plans are adapted for Preschool & Pre-K to include more advanced elements including: introduction to musical notation, terminology, and theory, as well as dramatic musical play, and incorporating children’s ideas & initiatives. GroovyBeBop gives children the perfect introduction to music, as they explore instruments, find their singing voices, feel the rhythm in their bodies, and build confidence as they discover the joy of expressing themselves through music!

  • Kids' Test Kitchen Summer Intensive

    On a mission to get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! We present kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned! Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own. Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes. Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. Classes Include: All classes consist of stretching, traveling steps across the floor and choreography, focusing on musicality, balance, coordination, and of course fun!     Explore, create or survive! Mine deep into the Minecraft world and create the future! In this creative class, challenge the odds, craft your own kinds of weapons and build dream worlds using code. Do this while also learning fundamental programming concepts, level design and problem-solving skills. You will make use of Ready-made coding blocks to create mini versions of Minecraft games. Camp Outcomes: During the camp, each camper will create their own projects utilizing ready made coding blocks. By the end of the week each camper will be able to show off all of their code in one world! Each student will have knowledge of programming concepts, Minecraft modding, and complete many mini projects!

    Anyone can build a game in Roblox! Roblox studio has all the tools to make your wildest gaming imaginations a reality. You tell us what game you want to make and we'll teach you the fundamentals and coach you through bringing that game to life! Whether you're new to coding or have some experience, you will be challenged and have fun while bringing your game to life. Through drag and drop techniques or pure scripting, you’ll be creating extensions to the Roblox game while fostering your creativity and learning real-world computer coding. Camp Outcomes: At the end of your camp, your child will have a completed Roblox project(s) which they will be able to play online and be able to show off to their friends. Your child will learn problem solving skills, managing a game from the ground up, will learn how to work with different coding concepts such as variables, objects, and writing proper syntax all while managing their very own game!

    This week is filled with Nerf fun at Sports Zone with our Nerf Battlefields Week. Kids will get to play and strategize throughout the day in special Nerf Missions using our inflatable Nerf Obstacles. Equipment is provided; however, kids are welcome to bring their own gear to participate! We will also be playing some additional sports games throughout the day too! For this special Summer Vacation Program, all kids will be divided into their proper age groups upon arrival. Kids will get a chance to play against their friends in friendly competition. Kids should wear comfortable running shoes! This program is open to both boys and girls.

In addition to learning the fundamentals of these sports, we will have exciting discussions about current events in sports, good sportsmanship and understanding the cool statistics on sports cards. Each participant will receive a daily pack of cards as a major prize. These prizes help emphasize value and are a fun way to enhance learning! BOSTON BRUINS WEEK: HOCKEY Our theme this week is based on all things Boston Bruins. We will be playing tournament style games of floor hockey plus many other popular favorite activities. We will talk about some great games, moments, and offer a special Bruins prize to a lucky child at the end of the week. Kids are welcome to share their special prizes with the group throughout the week for a chance at a Bruins prize!
